Coursera: Microsoft AI Product Manager Professional Certificate

Microsoft launched this professional certificate on Coursera in April 2026 as part of a set of enterprise-focused credentials built around Microsoft tooling. The program consists of five courses totaling around 120 hours of material, self-paced and completable in roughly three months at 10 hours per week. It is included in the Coursera Plus subscription.

Who it is for

The certificate is designed for people entering product management rather than practicing PMs looking to deepen technical skills. The target profile is an aspiring or early-career PM — particularly one looking to work in enterprise or B2B contexts — who wants to build foundational knowledge alongside specific hands-on experience with Microsoft tools. No prior PM or technical experience is required.

What it covers

The curriculum runs through the full product development lifecycle from problem definition to post-launch management. The market research component focuses on B2B methods: how to analyze enterprise customer needs, develop buyer personas, run competitive analysis in AI-adjacent markets, and account for the regulatory and data factors that shape enterprise AI adoption.

The technical portion is organized around Microsoft’s own product stack. Learners work with Copilot, Power BI, and Azure to build skills in AI feature design, security assessments, and compliance — areas that come up directly in enterprise PM conversations. Practical activities include designing AI features for existing platforms, building release plans and marketing strategies, and running quality assurance checks.

Ethical AI practices and user-centered design run through the program rather than appearing as standalone modules.

What it does not cover

The certificate does not go deep on model behavior, ML system monitoring, or the technical side of building AI products from scratch. It is a general PM foundation with an AI and Microsoft-enterprise overlay, not a course for PMs who already work with data science or engineering teams and need more technical grounding.
