Teable 3.0: an AI-native spreadsheet that builds workflows and apps

Teable 3.0 launched on Product Hunt on July 23, 2026, reaching the #1 position for the day. The product is a spreadsheet built on PostgreSQL infrastructure, with AI agents capable of converting business data into workflows and custom applications. Users describe it as an Airtable alternative with actual database ownership — the underlying data is stored in real PostgreSQL rather than a proprietary format, which means teams can query it directly or migrate without reconstruction.

The 3.0 version introduces multi-agent collaboration, where agents with different permission scopes work within the same data environment, with audit logging for actions taken. Natural language commands can generate workflows or build interfaces against existing data without requiring no-code tooling configuration or developer involvement.

The practical angle for product managers is data portability and workflow cost. Teams that have historically used Airtable or Notion databases to manage roadmap tracking, feature flagging, customer request logs, or OKR tracking face recurring vendor lock-in concerns as those tools evolve their pricing. Teable’s PostgreSQL foundation addresses that concern directly — the data remains accessible through standard tooling regardless of what happens to the SaaS layer above it.

The AI agent layer addresses a different problem: converting structured business data into automated actions without building custom integrations. For a PM managing a product that aggregates data across systems, the ability to build a workflow in natural language against existing database tables is a meaningful productivity change.

Whether Teable’s multi-agent architecture holds up under real-world complexity — concurrent writes, permission edge cases, agent error recovery — will determine how far it scales beyond early adopters.
