Maven: AI Product Management 101 & Certification

Dr. Marily Nika teaches this two-week program on Maven while serving as a GenAI Product Builder at Google and as a lecturer at Harvard Business School. She has spent over 12 years launching AI products at Google and Meta, and the course reflects that operational background rather than a surveying approach to AI in product management.

The curriculum covers the AI product development lifecycle from first principles: what AI-specific metrics look like, which technical concepts PMs need in order to communicate effectively with engineers and data scientists, how to build and present AI PRDs, and how to prototype using current AI tools. The program does not assume a technical background. It treats the PM’s job as defining requirements, measuring outcomes, and shipping—and structures the content around those responsibilities.

The course runs across five live sessions with additional asynchronous content, requiring roughly four to six hours per week. The student composition leans senior: approximately 40 percent are executives, 40 percent mid-career, and 20 percent early-career. Over 8,000 students have completed the program.

What the course does not address: deeper technical implementation—model architecture, fine-tuning approaches, or engineering workflows. It is also not specifically focused on agentic systems or multi-step AI pipelines. PMs who already have a working AI product and are looking for advanced strategy or leadership content would get more from the advanced program by the same instructor.

For PMs who are still primarily working on non-AI products and want a structured path into AI product work, this course covers the foundations without requiring engineering background. Upcoming cohorts run June 19–July 4 and July 20–August 4, 2026. The cost is $499 and includes lifetime access and a peer community.
