Maven: Claude Code for Product Managers

Claude Code for Product Managers is a two-week course on Maven that teaches PMs how to apply Claude Code — an AI coding agent — across the product management workflow without requiring a software engineering background. The course launched its first cohort in August 2026. Instructors are Aman Khan, Head of Product at Arize AI and a contributor to Lenny’s list of AI product management resources, and Eric Xiao, a full-stack builder and former instructor at UC Berkeley.

The course covers the full product development lifecycle rather than isolating a single tool or task. Topics include building and managing AI coding agents, automating recurring PM work such as feedback analysis, documentation drafts, and release notes, creating interactive prototypes using AI for design and UX tasks, maintaining context across extended agent sessions, and connecting Claude Code to external systems through MCP tools. The MCP module is particularly relevant for teams that want to integrate Claude Code with existing codebases or third-party APIs.

The format includes 14 live sessions over two weeks (approximately five hours per week), with all sessions recorded for those who cannot attend live. Office hours provide direct access to instructors, and a certificate is issued on completion.

The primary audience is PMs who want to move from using AI chat tools to running agentic workflows — the difference between asking Claude to draft a PRD and having it execute a sequence of tasks autonomously. The course also fits designers wanting to build functional applications independently, and job seekers assembling portfolio projects that demonstrate practical AI tooling skills.

The course does not teach software engineering fundamentals. It focuses specifically on what is achievable with Claude Code, not on programming in general. Teams evaluating agentic AI for their workflows will find the office hours format more useful than a self-paced alternative, since the application scope varies significantly by team context.
