Asanify: The AI creative studio moves into the chat window

In four days following Google I/O 2026, three major creative platforms announced native integrations with Google’s Gemini application. Canva launched first on May 19 with an @Canva shortcut that lets users generate or edit designs using plain-language prompts. Adobe followed on May 20, with more than 50 of its tools arriving in Gemini over the coming weeks. CapCut confirmed video editing access on May 21.

The shift this represents is structural rather than incremental. Design tools are moving from standalone applications into conversational layers inside software teams already use for other work. A marketing team that previously required separate subscriptions, separate logins, and context-switching between Canva, Adobe, and a chat platform can now initiate creative tasks without leaving one window.

For designers working with clients and stakeholders, the near-term consequence is that first-draft visuals will increasingly arrive from Gemini before any design brief is written. A stakeholder may generate a marketing graphic, a social post, or a product mock-up through a chat prompt and share it as a starting point rather than a description of what they want. This changes what “first look” means in a project cycle and moves early-stage feedback from structured briefs to chat screenshots.

Gemini’s tightening usage limits add a cost dimension. Heavy creative use through these integrations may push teams into paid tiers faster than current projections assume, which complicates licensing plans for organizations that treat Gemini as a shared productivity tool.

Google is also assembling a position where the conversational layer controls access to the most-used design tools. Whether that benefits creators or increases platform dependency is a question the next several months of adoption will clarify.
