Friends of Figma — official Discord community for designers
Friends of Figma is the official community organized by Figma for designers, developers, and anyone building with the platform. The Discord server has over 33,000 members and functions as the primary space where Figma users get help, share work in progress, and stay current with product changes.
The community is structured into channels covering different parts of the Figma ecosystem: general design questions, component and design system work, prototyping, FigJam, and developer handoff. Following Config 2026 in June, the server has become an active space for exploring the new features announced there—code layers, Figma Motion, Figma agent connectors, and Weave—with members running hands-on sessions where they build with the new tools together.
Friends of Figma chapters also organize meetups independently in cities around the world. The Discord serves as a coordination layer across those local groups, meaning the community has both an online presence and a network of in-person events.
The server is appropriate for designers at any level. Beginner questions about Figma basics get answered alongside advanced discussions about design system token architecture. The signal-to-noise ratio is generally good, partly because the community is moderated by Figma employees and appointed community leaders.
Worth joining if you use Figma regularly and want to learn from other practitioners, get feedback on your work, or stay close to product changes as Figma continues expanding its AI tooling.
